Motorcycle Tour of Andalucia Spain

I got away for a few days riding in late October. Our summer season had finished and it was a good opportunity to get in some riding while things are quiet. I flew to Malaga, Spain and hired a GS Adventure from GS Heaven (Great Company) and covered around 1200km in 4 days. The roads are great and very quiet, a prefect place for some late season riding.

Video Tour of Irelands South Coast

Another motorbike journey video for your viewing pleasure, this time it’s the South Coast of Ireland. Starting from just outside Dublin it goes through the Wicklow Mountains taking in the beautiful Powerscourt House then along the South coast past Waterford and Tramore. Then the route dives inland to ‘The Vee’ before heading South to Kinsale then West to Mizen Head. Music by the up and coming Irish band The Farriers.

Video Tour of the Causeway Coast Road

While doing some run-in miles on the new BMW R1200GS Adventure I found myself on what is probably one of the best roads in Ireland for motorbikes. It’s the Causeway Coast Road which runs from Belfast up the East coast and along the North coast of Northern Ireland. I thought I would take a few video clips to give you a taste of it. Sights along the way are Carrickfergus Castle, Carrick-a-reed rope bridge, Giants Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Dunluce Castle and Mussenden Temple among others.

New 2009 BMW R1200GS Adventure

Red BMW R1200GS Adventure Motorcycle 2009
We took delivery of a brand new BMW R1200GS Adventure in the last few days. It will be used by the staff for leading tours and planning new tour routes for 2010. So far we are having great fun running it in and playing with all the toys. We went for the fully loaded spec with includes Electronic Suspension Adjustment, Anti-lock brakes, Automatic Stability Control, Alarm, On-board computer, BMW Aluminium Luggage and a Chrome Exhaust. We are looking forward to many happy miles together exploring the roads of Ireland.

Video Tour of Donegal

I made a quick trip to County Donegal last weekend and took some video from the bike. The weather was great and I toured the Inishowen Peninsula up to Malin Head which is Irelands most Northerly point. I then looped back and checked out Glenveagh National Park which is stunning and finally down through the Blue Stack Mountains to Glenties for the night. The next day I travelled up the West coast along the N56 which is a great ride and took in the Rosses and Bloody Foreland. All in all it was a fun trip with good roads and little traffic. This North west corner of Ireland is sadly often forgotten but has scenery second to none and should be incorporated into any trip to Ireland.

New 2009 Honda Transalp XL700V ABS

Well, we opened the cheque book today and purchased a new 2009 Honda Transalp. We managed to do the deal at the last moment as the price goes up tomorrow by a whooping £1100 due to the strength of the Japanese Yen.

Like the bike in the photo we decided on black and added brushed aluminium panels for the top box and panniers. We also added a list of goodies so it’s ready to go straight into the rental fleet.
